Kambo Healing

What is Kambo?

Kambo is the name given to the traditional shamanic cleansing with a secretion of a frog that is used to strengthen the body, healing the mind and spirit. The scientific name is Phyllomedusa bicolor. This frog lives in the northwestern part of the Amazon jungle, Colombia and in the border between Brazil and Peru.

Kambo is used by the natives as “vaccine” to protect themselves from disease, bad luck, to gained strength and even become more attractive. It is also used as a form of regeneration, cleansing the body and restoring vital energy.

Amazonian tribes believe that human beings live constantly surrounded by a dense cloud that prevents us from seeing clearly. This cloud is called “panema” for the Katukina people. Panema could be translated as an expression of “negative energy”, “bad luck”, laziness or depression.

In Sinchi Runa we see that dense cloud as everything that one has not being able to process on an emotional level. This emotional baggage begins to generate a series of inconsistencies in the body that creates disease. Kambo offers the opportunity to lift up the panema, recovering the vitality to live a healthy lifestyle and fulfill our physical potential.

Kambo allows a profound decodification resetting the cells to their natural state.

Kambo is the most powerful natural vaccine in the world. Strengthens the immune system up to 300 percent. It stimulates the sympathetic nervous system and produces a complete stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system. The secretion has the property to trigger a biochemical process of organic interaction, sequential stimulation and inhibition; organic action stimulates certain receptors, immediately going to inhibit other centers, in a rapidly changing system performance or rescheduling receptor sites.

The peptides of Kambo

Some of them have an enzymatic function and participate in the homeostatic regulation of the organism. Neuropeptides (enkephalins, endorphins, dynorphins, Substance P, …) act as neurotransmitters.

Scientific studies shows that Kambo consists of many peptides that are beneficial to the human body. Some of the peptides cross the blood-brain barrier, by stimulating the brain endocrine glands, resulting in an immunological effect and deep cleansing of the body. Shows antibiotic properties, strengthening the immune system and destroys pathogens.

Kambo is traditionally known for the Amazonian tribes as an inflammatory to treat pain. Peptides contained in the toxin cover a wide range of potential medical uses: brain diseases such as Alzheimer and Parkinson, depression, migraine, blood circulation problems, vascular insufficiency, organ diseases, cancer, fertility problems in women, AIDS, herpes, hepatitis and others of immune nature.

Scientists analyzed the chemical composition of the venom and found peptides with beneficial effects on the human body:

  • Dermorphin – opioid agonist receptor, powerful. Relieves pain.
  • Deltorphin – delta opioid agonist receptor – very powerful. (Dermorphin and deltorphin are 4000 times stronger than morphine and 40 times stronger than endogenous b-endorphins.
  • Phyllomedusin – tachykinin affects the salivary glands, tear ducts, intestines and bowel. Contracts muscles and contributes to violent purge.
  • Phyllokinin (and phyllomedusin) – potent blood vessels dilators, also increases the permeability of the blood-brain barrier.
  • Phyllocaerulein – stimulates the adrenal cortex and pituitary gland, causes a drop in blood pressure, causing tachycardia, has a powerful effect on the gastrointestinal muscle, gastric stimulation, biliary and pancreatic secretions.
  • Sauvagine – stimulates the adrenal cortex, it causes a long-term drop in blood pressure and causes severe tachycardia.
  • Adiporeguline – acts on adenosine receptors.
  • Dermaseptin – Potent antimicrobial Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and antiviral for herpes simplex virus
