Maestro Sanango is a Peruvian healer whose work is based in the union of Amazonian shamanism and Vedic spirituality. Over the course of 20 years, Sanango has performed thousands of Ayahuasca ceremonies to treat mental disharmony and spiritual diseases that manifest as disconnection, anxiety, addiction and depression.
Sanango is widely sought for his firm and loving awareness of the physical and emotional cleansing that must take place to fully receive the curative benefits of shamanic ceremonies. Sanango performs master plant based healing, incorporates Eastern consciousness arts and realignment with the earth to move one into a present encounter with ones inner universe and the ceaseless love of the divine.
Guides and Facilitators
Mikaela is a Kambo Therapist, Ayahuasca Facilitator and Hridaya Yoga- and Meditation Teacher. For the past eight years she has been living in the Guatemalan and Peruvian Rainforest, where she has been assisting and developing Sinchi Runa together with Maestro Sanango. Her presence is safe, loving and compassionate and she serves Ayahuasca with deep integrity and wisdom. The devotion and love of her work embraces each human being, plant and animal on this Earth.
She dedicates herself to creating a space in which Ayahuasca can be safely experienced in its full potential. During the past eight years she has dieted with a variety of shamanic master plants and gone through hundreds of Ayahuasca Ceremonies, Purges and Shamanic Processes. She spent most of the time during the first three years of her learning alone in the jungle without communication with the “outer world”. During this time she went through many shamanic diets, communicating with Ayahuasca, the plant spirits, the natural world and the Cosmos. A process that proved invaluable to her understanding of the medicine and allowing her to serve others in similar processes. Moreover, she is studying academic psychology as well as alternative therapies, seeking to implement a deep therapeutic safety and care, bridging profound shamanic insight and healing with a safe therapeutic framework and yogic practices. She is also a mother and spends most of her time rediscovering the world with her two-year old son Maitreya.
“I have felt the pain and cry of the Earth and I have cried with her. I have seen the deep inherent goodness and greatness of humanity and been filled with hope. I have experienced our eternal nature as pure divine love and our human nature as gardeners and caretakers of the field of our minds, hearts and of this beautiful Earth. I have danced with fairies in moonlit forests and I have ventured into the dark parts of my being, forgiving and accepting myself as I am. I have fallen in love with existence in all its nuances. Ayahuasca opened my eyes, my soul, my being and has given me the honor to hold space for others to journey with her, in their own unique way. I am convinced of the incredible healing power of this medicine and believe there is no greater gift humanity could receive in this time. I cannot express in words how meaningful this is to me, but through facilitating these processes I am filled with gratitude. Through Ayahuasca, I see so many people rediscover their own undoubtable truth and beauty, beyond all words or dogma. I see people communicate with the Universe while their suffering transforms into great wisdom. I am so honored to be here.” Mikaela
Kameron has been learning from Sanango and facilitating retreats at Sinchi Runa during the last three years. He has gone through various shamanic diets and spent much time in solitude and communion with Ayahuasca and other master plants in the Peruvian Rainforest. Before this he practiced meditation and self-enquiry for many years, while he explored ways to awaken creativity and live in harmony with the joyous flow of life.
With deep understanding, warmth and kindness he serves each one coming to the retreats. He assists Sanango in the Ayahuasca Ceremonies and Purges and facilitates these processes, caring for the physical and psychological safety and wellbeing of each one present.
“It is an honor to serve and care for a space where this inward journey takes place. It is immensely deeper than I could have ever imagined and I continue to find myself here, diving deeper into my understanding of life, love and service.” Kameron
Collaborators and Retreat Care
Emma came to Sinchi Runa for the first time in 2014 for a ten day plant dieta. She experienced profound and life changing healing during this diet; an unforgettable reconnection with the heart. Since then she has been coming back many times throughout the years, deepening her experience with the healing plants of the Amazon. Her presence is infused with love and genuine care for everyone around her and she inspires Sinchi Runa with her loving-kindness.
During some of the retreats Emma is offering a daily practise of Hridaya Hatha Yoga and Meditation. Hridaya Yoga is a spiritual path for the revelation of our true nature, or “Hridaya”, the Spiritual Heart. The practise is deeply meditative, inviting greater awareness in every moment. It is a practice of Self-Enquiry and of opening up to the mystery, the sacredness and wonderment of our own existence.
“I’m so grateful to be able to assist Sinchi Runa, and to follow my deep longing to go deeper on this path and support others in their journeys with the plants.” Emma
Veronika is a lovely newcomer to the Sinchi Runa team. Cooking is one of her biggest passions and she prepares wonderful homemade, organic vegetarian/vegan meals. During the retreats she nurtures everyone with both her food and deep, loving and grounded presence.
“I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to assist in these retreats. I was deeply moved by my experience with Ayahuasca and there is still so much to learn and to remember. I am amazed by the transformation that many people undergo during the retreats and I want to help in whatever way I can to make it happen. The beautiful experiences I had at Sinchi Runa so far are the greatest source of inspiration and joy in my life and they come directly from the people who create this place. I wish that by serving I can give back to the world and help create something beautiful and meaningful.“ Veronika
Matt recently joined Sinchi Runa and helps out with everything from preparing the ceremony spaces to keeping the chimneys burning during the cold months to making sure that all participants are comfortable and well taken care of. His joyful presence and natural, kind helpfulness makes him a wonderful alley to share the ceremonies and retreats with.
“I came to this experience in search for answers to the many questions I had, but what I received was much more. The experience changed my whole perspective on life and its meaning. I’m very grateful to be able to explore this new understanding further as well as continuing to establish a deeper, closer and authentic relationship with myself and the world. I’m so glad to be able to share this experience with others through serving these retreats. To do this, is to be part of something that I feel is very meaningful.” Mat
